Citizens may be able to manage their benefits, pensions, healthcare appointments, council tax payments, educational affairs via a dashboard that links all the government services under one roof. MyGov UK will ease the tensions of citizens having to identify themselves seperately for each individual public service.
It was inspired by holiday websites and will be as simple to use as online banking and shopping sites. MyGov uk will also help to open up policy-making, giving citizens a platform to air their needs and mould government information. Gordon Brown also stated that MyGov may take the place of their DirectGov website in the future.
However the dangers of phishing and keylogging attacks on the MyGov uk website portal have recently been highlighted. A simple login on the MyGov site could be vulnerable. MyGov uk security should be of the upmost importance.
